Sabudana wada

Third Sunday of the month and it is my cleaning day! The maids visit in the morning and I get all the housed prepped up for the 4th of July weekend when my sister in law and her family plan to visit. 6 loads of laundry, changing bed shits, cleaning the office, toy room and kitchen

My in laws visiting this summer. Amit asks for his favorite food - sabudana wada!! My mother in law made this for all of us so I dedicate the post to her. After the maids leave and Amit comes back from grocery shopping, kids ready after their bath, we all enjoyed this sunday for lunch. The kids loved this too for their 5 o clock snack!!

Ingredients:

2 cup Sabudana wada

4 tbsp peanut powder

2 potate boiled smashed

3 tbsp lemon juice

bunch cilantro

4 chilly crushed

1/4 inch ginger

2 tbsp cumin seeds

asafoetida

salt to tatse

sugar to taste

Method:

1. Soak the sabuda (sago) in water overnight. This is the most important step here. Wash it wit wtaer couple times and leave about half inch water on top of the sago.

2. Next day morning - add the smashed potato, peanut powder, lemon juice, salt, sugar, chilly and ginegr crushed, cumin seeds, asafoetida, clatro and mix with hands to make a nice dough.

3. Make small balls of size you like and flatten them. This makes it easy to fry.

4. Heat oil in a pan and fry them.

Serve hot with green chutney. Enjoy!
