Ghadachi Poli (rotis - layered soft whole wheat tortillas)

I never imagined I will be doing this everyday!! My daughter likes this dish with stirred fried veggies.- everyday meal for Maharashtrians. My daughter says she does not like the ones from caterers but only likes the one I make so has forced me to make them everyday. I make soft dough balls enough for 15 days and put them in freezer. Every morning, I put dough balls needed for that day on counter top. By evening, they thaw and am ready to make the polis.


Ingredients:

2 cups wheat flour Salt to taste Vegetable oil

Method:

​1. In a bowl, mix the wheat flour and add warm water to make soft dough. When it becomes soft and does not touch your hands and feels like play dough, you should be good. I apply some oil say 2 tsp to eat.

2. Let stand for 2 hours. If you do not have time, can make immediately.

3. Roll using a laddle on counter top.

4. Meanwhile, have a pan heat to medium-high.

5. Bake on pan on both sides. The poli fluffs when made properly.

6. Serve hot with veggies or lentils of choice.
