Dahi Wada
My favorite summer time snack! Ariv s favorite so making this for his happy birthday too!
Ingredients:
1 cup urad dal
1 tsp fenugreek seeds
1 cup yogurt
1 cup buttermilk
Ginger 1/8 inch
4-5 green chilly
1 tsp cumin - cilantro powder
tamarind sauce
Mint sauce
Chilly powder
Chaat masala
salt to taste
Method:
1. Soak the urad dal and fenugreek seeds overnight in water leaving half inch above the dal.
2. Next day, grind in vitamix into a course but thin paste.
3. Add salt to taste and mix well.
4. Heat vegetable oil in pot and fry small balls of paste.
5. Let cool.
6. Take a bowl of warm - hot water. Dip the wada in the water and squeeze excess water and oil.
7. In a pan mix buttermilk, salt, green chilly and ginger paste, cumin - cilantro powder.
8. Add the wada to the above buttermilk pan,
9. In a serving bowl, add couple wadas. Add whisked yogurt, tamarind and mint sauce, cilantro, chilly powder, chaat masala.
Enjoy with hot tea or coffee or beverage of choice!
