Kale Paratha (Indian bread)

I generally make spinach, patato or methi (fenugreek), cilantro parathas. I picked up kale leaves at the grocery store to try out something new. I substituted spinach with Kale leaves and parathas came out well. My husband could not make out any difference. I also made Kale Paneer that tasted very good. All efforts were rewarded when Ariv ate it!

Ingredients:

1 bowl Kale leaves, remove stems if not using just kale leaves.

2 cups wheat flour

2 tbsp cumin

1 tsp Ajwain seeds

4 cloves garlic

4 green chillies

Salt to taste

Method:

1. Boil water in a pan (just enough to soak the kale leaves) and and salt. Add kale leaves. Let stand for 10 mins.

2. Meanwhile blend cumin, green chillies, garlic, ajwain seed together. Add kale leaves with little water and blend.

3. Remove the mixture in a mixing bowl.

4. Add wheat flour to it and thoroughly mix together.

5. Make small dough balls and roll them into tortillas. Bake them on a pan.

6. Add little butter on top when ready. Serve hot with dal, vegetable or hot sauce.
